Novus International, Inc. Launches Arenus Retail Business to Supply Health and Performance Products
St. Louis, Missouri, June 11, 2007 — Novus International, Inc., a global leader in health and nutrition for poultry and livestock, announced today it has formed a company doing business as Arenus to produce performance products for the equine, canine and human health markets. Arenus will initially produce and market its products in the continental United States beginning in June of 2007.
“Arenus supports Novus’s vision to help feed the world by building upon its research and understanding of animal health and nutrition. Arenus will bring the Novus approach of improving health through nutrition to the equine, pet and human markets,” said Thad Simons, President and CEO of Novus. “We are looking forward to entering these markets with viable, science-proven products.”
Because Arenus is owned by Novus, a nearly $1 billion global animal health and nutrition company, it has the manufacturing technology, assets, experience and scale necessary to offer innovative nutritional products and information to the equine and companion animal enthusiast communities. In addition, Arenus benefits from Novus’s network of nearly 50 Ph.D. and Masters level animal nutritionists, over 25 veterinarians, and a multitude of other affiliated scientists from across the globe.

The company’s initial product, STEADFAST™ EQUINE was designed by nutritionists and veterinarians specifically for horses with high demand lifestyles to support and maintain Total Structural Health – including healthy joints, bones, hooves, and other connective tissues. All of these components may be impacted over time due to the effects of athletic performance, environmental conditions and aging. While many equine health products may be useful in addressing one component of a horse’s framework, STEADFAST™ EQUINE takes a unique and multi-faceted approach in supporting the horse’s entire structural system.
Development of ARENUS brand products takes place in Novus’s forty-four thousand square foot research and development center in St. Charles, Missouri. Additionally, Arenus utilizes leading vets, breeders, trainers, owners and farriers as members of its Scientific Panel, Health Professionals Advisory Board, and Professional Equestrian Advisory Board to ensure ARENUS brand products are not only technically sound and efficacious, but also address unmet needs within the equine community.
