Arenus Welcomes Three New Team Members
St. Louis, Missouri – March 21, 2008 – Arenus, dedicated to improving the health, performance, and longevity of horses and dogs, is pleased to announce three talented individuals have recently joined the team.
“We are very fortunate to have these additions to our staff,” says Jeremy Moore, Marketing Manager. “Their knowledge, experience and passion for the equine nutrition industry exemplify Arenus’s commitment to research, relationships and results.”
Dr. Kenneth J. Kopp, DVM, Technical Service Veterinarian
Dr. Kopp has many years of experience in the equine nutrition industry. His first experience in the horse industry was working as a stable hand at the Anheuser Busch Clydesdale Breeding Farm. He went on to complete his veterinary education at the University of Missouri and post graduate work at the University of Georgia. After returning to St. Louis, he owned his own multi-doctor equine practice where he was able to work with the Clydesdales as their attending veterinarian.
Other experience includes; Resident Veterinarian and Director of Farm Operations for a large Quarter Horse farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Manager of Equine Nutrition for Southern States Cooperative in Richmond, Virginia, and his own equine nutrition consulting company, where he presented hundreds of educational seminars and authored many equine nutrition-related articles.
Dr. Kopp sees a great future for Arenus in leveraging the science and knowledge base of its parent company, Novus International. “Novus is a global leader in food animal nutrition because of its long commitment to high quality research,“ says Dr. Kopp. “The application of this well spring of knowledge into equine and companion animals will be a tremendous benefit to horses and pets.”
Katie Pell, Marketing Representative, Eastern U.S.
Katie Pell has been an avid horseperson for over 20 years and has worked in numerous disciplines including; western, eventing, in-hand/sport horse, hunter/jumper and dressage. Her primary focus has been in dressage for the past 16 years.
Katie’s unique gift is an uncanny ability to transform young horses and rehabilitations who others have given up on into lifelong companions and even competitive athletes. Katie holds an Associates Degree in Animal Science, Bachelors in Business Administration Management and she is currently finishing her Master of Business Administration.
Throughout her equine career, she has had the pleasure of showing under, training and working with numerous top-level trainers and horses from all over the world. Her passion for the horse’s well-being fuels her desire to make a difference in the lives of horses that will leave the type of lasting effect they have earned and deserve from us.
Brady Karren, Marketing Specialist, Western U.S.
Brady has spent a lifetime working with horses in one aspect or another. He grew up showing, reining, cutting, and working cow horses as well as roping and starting colts in the mountains of Utah.
Brady began his formal education at Ricks College where he received an Associates Degree in Animal Science. He continued at Brigham Young University (BYU), receiving a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science and a minor in Business Management. While at BYU, Brady worked with Growth Biology and Animal Nutrition professors on multiple studies utilizing a variety of species, but focused his own research primarily in horses.
Following his time at BYU, Brady received a Masters degree in Animal Science, specializing in Equine Nutrition, from Texas A&M University. Brady continues to be amazed at the feats achieved by horses and is passionate about the human relationship with them. He especially focuses on what we can feed our equine counterparts to assist them in having longer and more fulfilling careers as Equine Athletes and more content years as a part of our families.
